This is a foundation online workshop for Extraclassroom Activity Faculty Advisors, with an emphasis on the legal foundations and responsibilities for the advising and management student extraclassroom organizations. Presentation and discussions will include fundraising and New York State taxation.
Audience
For new school district Extraclassroom Activity Faculty Advisors. Of interest to Extraclassroom Central Treasurers, Internal Auditors, Faculty Auditors, Faculty Advisors, Business Administrators, Principals, and Superintendents.

Michael Wolff training of extraclassroom activity funds Faculty Advisors, Central Treasurers, Faculty Auditors, and administrators. He coducts internal audits and claims auditing of extraclassroom activity funds, and services to School Districts and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services. Michael is a Certified Internal Auditor. Michael is the appointed Claims Auditor of the Capital Region BOCES, Dutchess County BOCES, and four school districts in the Capital District area. Michael is a Past President of the Albany Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

James M. Merrins, Ed.D., SDA, SBA
Dr. Jim Merrins is Executive Program Administrator of Educational Support Services. He administers numerous statewide fiscal workshops for superintendents and experienced school administrators, including Fiscal Navigation for Superintendents, The School District Negotiator,and Claims Auditor Training. Jim has more than 40 years experience in school administration, including 16 years as a Superintendent in Fredonia and Honeoye, New York. Dr. Merrins is NYS certified as a School District Administrator and School Business Administrator. Dr. Merrins taught school finance and school law at SUNY colleges for several years.
Costs
The cost of this workshop is $95 for the first participant, plus $75 for the second participant, plus $55 for the third and each subsequent participants from the same school district or firm.
